Mohamed Salah has established a new benchmark in Turkey’s top‑tier club football, becoming the inaugural player to record ten goal contributions across his opening seven league fixtures for Trabzonspor.
In that Saturday clash against Samsunspor, Salah delivered an assist, raising his combined goal‑assist total to three while also notching seven goals in the same number of matches—a striking start to his Turkish stint after departing Liverpool.
Accumulating ten goal contributions in seven games marks a Super Lig record for any player.
The 34‑year‑old forward transferred to the Turkish club from the English Premier League in August on a two‑year deal, a move that initially raised eyebrows.
He became a free agent upon concluding his Liverpool tenure at the close of the previous English season.
Upon completing his transfer to Trabzonspor, Salah was welcomed by throngs of supporters upon his arrival in Istanbul.
The Egyptian international debuted for Trabzonspor off the bench in the league’s season‑opener against Kasimpasa, a match that finished 1‑1.
One month afterward, Salah netted a hat‑trick and added an assist as Trabzonspor crushed defending champions Galatasaray 4‑0 at home, inflicting the Istanbul side’s first loss of the campaign.
Trabzonspor, a seven‑time Turkish league champion, concluded the previous season in third place.
