MotoGP Unveils 2027 Calendar Featuring New Buenos Aires and Adelaide Rounds

The official 2027 MotoGP calendar has been announced, confirming the inclusion of Buenos Aires and Adelaide, moving Qatar to round two, and featuring five double-headers along with a single triple-header.

The upcoming season introduces several new venues and marks the most geographically diverse schedule in MotoGP history, comprising 22 rounds across 19 nations.

Among the newcomers are Buenos Aires and Adelaide, which effectively replace Hungary’s Balaton Park, while Phillip Island is dropped from hosting the Australian Grand Prix.

Qatar remains under review; although slated for an early-season slot, its fate hinges on the outcome of discussions regarding the November event originally set for this year.

Originally slated for April, this year’s Qatar Grand Prix was postponed due to the Israel‑Iran conflict, with a decision on a potential November rescheduling expected within weeks.

The season will kick off on 7 March at Thailand’s Buriram International Circuit, precisely one month after the final pre‑shakedown tests conclude there. Given the ongoing Middle‑East tensions, the paddock will proceed directly to Losail for round two, enjoy a one‑week break, then travel to the Americas.

Brazil will host the second back‑to‑back round before Buenos Aires returns to the calendar after nearly three decades, with the Argentine round set for the second weekend of April at the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez.

After Argentina, the series moves to Austin for the Americas Grand Prix at the end of April, then returns to Europe where Jerez will host the Spanish GP on 9 May—one week later than its traditional date.

Twelve European rounds are scheduled from mid‑May through early October, with Portimão closing the European swing before the series heads to Asia.

The sole triple‑header of 2027 comprises Japan on 17 October, Malaysia on 24 October, and Indonesia on 31 October, serving as the gateway to the Oceania leg.

Phillip Island will no longer stage the Australian Grand Prix; the race will relocate to the semi‑urban Adelaide circuit, a move Liberty Media believes could attract additional host cities worldwide.

As previously announced, Valencia will once again host the season finale at the end of November.
