Flight engineer Sophie Adenot of ESA (European Space Agency) assists NASA’s Chris Williams as he evaluates his spacesuit in the International Space Station’s Quest airlock on June 23, 2026. The test assesses comfort, mobility, communication systems, and life support functionality ahead of the astronauts’ upcoming extravehicular activity.
Williams and NASA’s Jessica Meir are scheduled to perform a spacewalk on June 30 to repair a faulty wrist joint on the Canadarm2 robotic arm. The maintenance is critical to restoring the robotic arm’s operational capabilities, which are essential for station maintenance and scientific experiments.
