Sami Zayn is celebrating his new WWE Championship title in a distinctive manner.
It finally materialized. After a decade on WWE’s main roster, Sami Zayn captured the Undisputed WWE Championship for the first time during Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last Saturday.
Although some questioned his inclusion, Zayn was inserted into the storyline involving former three‑time champion Cody Rhodes and his rival, Gunther.
This culminated in a triple‑threat match at Night of Champions, where each competitor had several near‑victories.
In the closing moments, Cody returned with a Super Cody Cutter on Gunther, followed by a Cross Rhodes attempt. Zayn countered with his own Cross Rhodes on Cody, then seized the momentum. Gunther attempted a Sleeper, but Zayn countered, and the action spiraled—multiple Cross Rhodes combos and counters exchanged. In a decisive move, Zayn executed a sleeper on Cody, tackled Gunther, and secured the pinfall. Michael Cole’s commentary erupted: “Miracle! Miracle! Miracle!”
Two days later, WWE will travel to Atlantic City for Monday Night Raw at 6 p.m. ET, followed by SmackDown tapings, allowing talent to rest before the July 4th holiday.
To mark his title victory, Zayn shared a social‑media clip showing him steering a convertible with the windows down, the Undisputed WWE Championship prominently displayed beside him.

The track accompanying the clip is Smokey Robinson’s “Cruisin’,” a classic that aligns with Zayn’s celebratory mood.

Speculation abounds that Zayn’s reign might be brief, potentially rendering him a “transitional champion” before SummerSlam. However, the talent appears unfazed by any anticipated short tenure.
“I’m not sure how to answer that, Byron. Many people have spoken about me—some supportive, some critical. They claimed I would never win the WWE Championship. Standing here in Riyadh, among the Arab and Muslim people, feeling the presence of the world champion, is extraordinary,” Zayn reflected.
Byron, you know my usual reply is not to speak, but… [reacts to chants] …I certainly deserve it. Eleven-plus years at the highest level has never been recognized. Ten-plus years chasing this championship and still unreachable. I have no concern for what will happen tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year. I will always be Sami Zayn, WWE Champion.”
