A judge has granted Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold permission to continue practicing and playing while awaiting trial on several felony charges. The charges stem from an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping incident reported in February 2-026. However, his eligibility to participate remains subject to league oversight.
Under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy, the league maintains the authority to place a player on paid leave if they are formally charged with a felony or a crime of violence. The policy defines such offenses as actions involving physical force, weapons, or conduct that poses a significant threat to the safety of others.
Furthermore, the Commissioner holds the discretion to mandate leave if an investigation suggests a player may have violated league standards, even prior to formal legal proceedings.
When asked by PFT regarding Arnold’s participation in the Lions’ upcoming training camp, a league spokesperson stated, “The matter remains under review.”
The NFL has several weeks to reach a determination. Depending on the outcome, Arnold could face a suspension that keeps him sidelined until his legal matters are fully resolved.
