In a fitting tribute to one of the greatest drivers in motorsport history, NASCAR has designated August 18 as ‘Kyle Busch Day,’ commemorating the numbers 8 and 18 that defined his career.
Busch passed away unexpectedly in May, just over a week after securing a Truck Series victory at Dover, after pneumonia deteriorated into sepsis. Throughout the season, the racing community has honored his life and legacy, and NASCAR will now observe an annual day of remembrance.
Tributes have flooded in from fans, friends, and fellow drivers, underscoring a résumé that ranks among the sport’s all-time greats.
While his fierce competitiveness will never be forgotten, many of the most cherished memories of Busch stem from his character and personality.
Although racing has seen many larger-than-life figures over the years, there is only one KFB.
