Muzaffarabad: PML‑N leader Nawaz Sharif is slated to speak at the party’s public gathering in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday.
In a video statement released on Monday, PML‑N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir announced that Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will address the rally at Khurshid Hasan Khurshid Stadium in Muzaffarabad, with all preparations for Sharif’s visit finalized.
Senator Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Inter‑Provincial Coordination, and Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit‑Baltistan Amir Muqam, together with other party officials, have already arrived in Muzaffarabad to supervise the preparations.
On Monday, Rana Sanaullah, accompanied by PML‑N candidate Barrister Iftikhar Gillani, toured Muzaffarabad’s major markets, engaging with traders and voters as part of the party’s election outreach.
Qadir urged party candidates, leaders, local‑government officials and workers from across AJK to attend the rally. He emphasized that PML‑N has long prioritized public service in AJK and will seek a renewed mandate based on its record, adding that the party leadership has continually supported the people of Kashmir during challenging periods.
The Muzaffarabad rally is set to commence at 4 p.m., with security heightened throughout the AJK capital.
Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto‑Zardari is slated to speak at an election rally in Nakyal, backing the party’s candidate and incumbent Food Minister Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, who will contest against PML‑N’s Sardar Umair Naeem.
Bhutto‑Zardari launched his AJK election campaign last week with an unscheduled three‑day visit to Muzaffarabad, during which he met with party leaders at a local hotel.
He addressed public rallies in Dadyal on July 17 and Kotli on July 19, and is scheduled to speak at two further rallies after Tuesday — in Mirpur on July 23 and Muzaffarabad on July 24. Sharif is also expected to address another election rally in Mirpur later this week.
