The co-pilot is currently being questioned in Saudi Arabia, where the aircraft made an emergency landing. However, United Arab Emirates officials assert their jurisdiction over the incident, noting that the plane is registered in the UAE and flies under its flag.

Netanyahu told Fox News that after the attacker was subdued and restrained by passengers and crew, he repeatedly pleaded with the aircrew, saying, “Kill me, kill me,” indicating that he was suicidal.

“Combining the presence of all those passengers with the Islamist tendencies and radicalization found in his background provides a significant clue,” Netanyahu stated, though he emphasized that final conclusions have not yet been established.

Earlier in the same broadcast, the prime minister was asked about potential Iranian involvement in the incident, to which he replied, “It’s too early to say.”
