The Jets officially ruled defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat out for Week 8 on Friday and then placed him on injured reserve for at least the next three games, sidelining him for that span.

Sweat’s season ended prematurely after a knee injury sustained during the team’s loss to Miami last Sunday. He had compiled 17 tackles, including two for loss, and started six of the first seven games.

To fill the defensive line vacancy, New York signed defensive tackle Payton Page from their practice squad. Page, who appeared in four games with the Jets last season, will assume Sweat’s roster spot.

The Jets also elevated offensive lineman Brian Banks and linebacker Quinton Bell from the practice squad. Bell’s promotion means veteran David Bailey, who was doubtful with a groin injury, will be inactive.
