Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, agreeing a transfer fee of around £24 million. The 20‑year‑old Frenchman will join the club on a four‑year contract, with the paperwork expected to be finalized before the start of pre‑season.

Jaouen, who stands at 6 ft 6 in, already features for France’s under‑21 side and enjoyed an impressive campaign in Ligue 2, keeping 15 clean sheets in 34 appearances and conceding just 35 goals.

The deal comes at a time when Newcastle are looking to refresh their goalkeeping department.
