Newly Unearthed John Prine Song From Record Store Day Release Debuts October 9

An archival John Prine album created as a private release for Record Store Day 2026 is set to debut October 9 on streaming platforms through Oh Boy Records. As part of this release, “World Without Love”—one of five previously unreleased tracks from the LP—has been revealed publicly for the first time. Below, viewers can watch a lyric video crafted from Super 8 film footage of Prine during a family vacation in the early 1970s.

Found Dogs, conceived to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings, includes reworked arrangements of classic Prine compositions alongside a cover version of Johnny Horton’s “All for the Love of a Girl.” This release coincides with ongoing celebrations marking Prine’s 80th birthday under the title *Souvenirs: 80 Years of John Prine*. Earlier this year, Oh Boy Records also released the live recording *Live at Old Town School of Folk* from 2010.
