NFL field director Nick Pappas announced that the evaluation, conducted on Friday in collaboration with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and an independent turf specialist, verified that the pitch meets every required standard. Pappas expressed confidence that the field is fully prepared for the game, emphasizing the league’s focus on optimizing athlete performance and playability on the surface.

This assurance comes as a relief following concerns raised by NFLPA executive director JC Tretter regarding the field’s traction and stability. The union had suggested reinforcing the grass with stitching to prevent excessive slipping, framing the issue primarily as a matter of gameplay quality and performance rather than player safety. Pappas noted that the unevenness previously complained about by soccer players poses distinct challenges for American football, but highlighted that a protective tarp is on standby at the stadium in the event of heavy rain.

While the official certification resolves key pre-game uncertainties, both the Ravens and the Cowboys will ultimately experience the true state of the turf once they take the field at full speed.
