We already know that the prospective purchaser of the Seahawks is poised to complete a transaction valued at a record $9.612 billion.
Now we understand the anticipated timeline for NFL ownership approval of this deal.
According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, the league has scheduled a one‑day meeting for Wednesday, August 26 in Atlanta, during which the vote on the Seahawks’ ownership transfer is expected to take place, contingent on Finance Committee review.
Schefter also notes that the meeting will include an update on football and business matters pertaining to the upcoming season.
The new ownership consortium is headed by Vinod Khosla. Khosla’s wife, Neeru, is slated to serve as controlling owner of the team, while their son Neal is expected to assume a prominent leadership role within the group.
