On Saturday, an Israeli drone strike in southern Gaza injured nine Palestinians, according to a medical source. The incident was described as a violation of the ongoing ceasefire agreement, as reported by Anadolu.
The strike targeted a gathering of civilians near tents sheltering displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, the source added.
Several tents were damaged in the attack, witnesses reported.
Separately, the Israeli army conducted artillery shelling in multiple areas, including east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, east of Gaza City, and near the Jabalia refugee camp in the north. No casualties were immediately confirmed.
Israeli naval forces also opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of Gaza City.
Since the onset of Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, more than 73,800 Palestinians have been killed and over 174,700 injured. The offensive has resulted in significant destruction, with approximately 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure damaged or demolished.
