Axe Wang has officially received an invitation to undergo training with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).
A ten-year veteran of the ring, Wang currently competes for the Taiwanese promotion PUZZLE Pro Wrestling.
Following an event held on Saturday to commemorate Wang’s tenth anniversary in professional wrestling, NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi delivered a video message inviting the wrestler to train with the Japanese organization.
In the translated video message, Tanahashi stated:
“Axe Wang, congratulations on the 10th anniversary of your debut. I have one request for you. Axe, won’t you please come to NJPW and try training here? I’ll be waiting.”
PUZZLE later confirmed that Wang is scheduled to depart for his training program with NJPW in September. His final match before leaving for Japan will take place on August 15.
According to a statement from PUZZLE:
“At the conclusion of the 7/11 ‘AXE WANG 10th Anniversary Memorial Tournament,’ New Japan Pro-Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi invited Axe Wang to train with New Japan. Following internal discussions within the group, Axe Wang will head to New Japan Pro-Wrestling for training in September, with his match at Zhongli Dojo on 8/15 serving as his final bout before his departure for Japan.”
