His fake call followed reports of attendees urinating and defecating on venues instead of using restrooms. “Congress is here! They want to know if they’re enacting a federal diaper policy for my shows?” he quipped into the prop phone. “Is that the new Act, folks? Just send a fleet of Pampers with the ushers?” After reportedly hearing mock approval from the imagined legislators, Kahan roared to his audience, “OK, everyone in the crowd—hear that? You better get your diapers ready for the next gig.”
The comments reflect Kahan’s frustration following a Reddit-fueled controversy where concertgoers admitted to refusing bathroom breaks to stay front row—and inadvertently damaging Paulding Dream venue floors. The singer had earlier this month tweeted: “If you gotta poop at a show, just go to the bathroom lmao. Those poor cleanup crews aren’t getting promoted for staring at messes all show”.
