Northamptonshire has agreed to a one-year contract extension with all-rounder Louis Kimber, keeping him with the county until the end of the 2028 season.
The 29-year-old arrived from Leicestershire last year and appeared in 17 matches across the County Championship and the T20 Blast, helping Northamptonshire claim the T20 Blast title in July.
Kimber scored a career-best 66 during Northamptonshire’s victory over Gloucestershire in May and finished with 1,685 first-class runs.
“Winning the Blast was an incredible achievement, and one that has made us even hungrier for success,” Kimber said on the club’s website.
“I can’t wait to get back to work, continue improving my game and contribute even more success for the club.”
Kimber took just one wicket and made 175 runs in his first season with Northamptonshire, but head coach Darren Lehmann believes there is more to come.
“Louis maybe didn’t have the season he’d have liked this year, but I believe he is a player that can make a big contribution to the side,” Lehmann said.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing Louis showcase what he can do next year.”
