Indian seam bowler Mukesh Kumar has signed with Nottinghamshire to bolster their pursuit of the County Championship title.
The 32‑year‑old, who played his most recent Test for India against England in 2024, is now at Trent Bridge, where Nottinghamshire sit second in Division One, four points adrift of Somerset with two fixtures remaining.
Kumar has amassed 233 first‑class wickets, all earned during a career spent exclusively in India.
He joins the English county just days after claiming 3‑62 for East Zone, guiding them to a Duleep Trophy victory over South Zone—their first win in 14 years.
Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores described Kumar as a high‑quality addition at a pivotal moment in the season.
“It’s fantastic to have a player who is match‑ready and fully competitive ahead of our two upcoming major fixtures,” Moores told the club website., external
