Oasis have released the first trailer for their upcoming documentary, directed by Steven Knight and filmed to commemorate their successful reunion and Live ’25 tour. The film, titled Don’t Look Back In Anger, will premiere in cinemas and on IMAX on September 11, followed by a global streaming release on Disney+ in 2026.
The teaser offers a glimpse into the brothers’ journey, featuring rehearsal footage, intimate interview clips, and electrifying moments from the tour’s crowd-filled shows. In one clip, Noel Gallagher reflects, “I just don’t see myself on stage with Liam,” captured moments before the Cardiff kickoff. Liam adds, “The way it finished… unacceptable,” hinting at the emotional weight behind their triumphant return.
Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace—known for the LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play The Hits—the film captures the first joint interviews between Noel and Liam in over 25 years, alongside unprecedented backstage and rehearsal access. Knight, renowned for Peaky Blinders, describes the project as both a concert film and a story of reconciliation: “Don’t Look Back In Anger is not only your ticket to the show—it’s a backstage pass and a seat at the table when Liam and Noel sit down together for the first time in 15 years and tell it how it is and how it was.”
The documentary will also explore the tour’s cultural resonance, highlighting how Oasis’ music bridged generations during a globally divided time. According to reports, it includes “phenomenal” footage of the brothers’ first meeting ahead of the comeback shows. Knight previously noted the film’s length was initially four hours, emphasizing it “has a story” and reflects an expanded narrative arc.
Noel Gallagher has viewed only brief clips so far, calling it “difficult to have an opinion on it.” Meanwhile, NME awarded the Cardiff opening night a five-star review, praising Oasis as “redesigned for the 21st Century” with a “pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular.”
In February, Noel was reported back in the recording studio, though details of the project remain unconfirmed. Liam has hinted at a 2027 tour return, including a potential performance in Rome, with ongoing rumors of a Knebworth reunion and a extended Manchester residency at The Etihad.
Knight added: “I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people. I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever.”
NME described the Live ’25 opener as “Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century,” noting their performance of “the greatest hits of greatest hits” in front of a “quintessential stadium” spectacle. The film continues to unfold, blending music, memory, and the enduring power of reunion.
