Snow Patrol electrified Crystal Palace Park on July 3rd with a sensational surprise: the live debut of their collaborative single “These Alarms” alongside Kylie Minogue. The iconic Irish band headlined the outdoor festival, delivering a career-spanning set before weaving in their unexpected guest star for a memorable performance.
The evening, supported by Nieve Ella, The Amazons, Amy MacDonald, and Editors, commenced with a powerful opener in the form of the 2008 anthem “Take Back the City.” The band then navigated through a robust repertoire of hits, including “Run,” “You Could Be Happy,” and “The Lightning Strike (What If This Storm Ends?).”p>

“These Alarms,” released earlier in the week, marked Snow Patrol’s first collaboration with Minogue and provided the show’s highlight. Following this performance, the band dedicated their 2006 classic “Chasing Cars” to Minogue, who joined in on the chorus for a poignant duet.
Snow Patrol played at Crystal Palace Park:
‘Take Back the City’
‘Chocolate’
‘Called Out in the Dark’
‘Run’
‘All’
‘Crack the Shutters’
‘The Lightning Strike’ (What If This Storm Ends?)
‘You Could Be Happy’
‘Love, I Guess’
‘Open Your Eyes’
‘Make This Go On Forever’
‘Shut Your Eyes’
‘Heal Me’
‘These Alarms’ (with Kylie Minogue)
‘Chasing Cars’ (with Kylie Minogue)
‘You’re All I Have’
ENCORE
‘What If This Is All the Love You Ever Get?’
‘Just Say Yes’
The collaboration between Snow Patrol and Minogue represents their inaugural partnership, with the song initially recorded without the pop icon in 2024 and subsequently shelved until a duet could be secured. The track features pulsing synths and haunting vocal harmonies, with Minogue and Lightbody’s intertwined vocals leading into an euphoric, anthemic chorus that captures the song’s emotional core: “It’s all at once / And everything in between / It’s not what we want / But it’s just something that / We need in our lives right now.”p>
Originally penned by Lightbody two years prior under the working title “Kylie,” the song was slated for inclusion on Snow Patrol’s 2021 album “The Forest Is The Path” before its eventual release as a collaborative single.
Following their Crystal Palace performance, Snow Patrol has upcoming UK dates including Ludlow Castle on July 16, Edinburgh Castle on July 18, and Splendour Festival in Nottingham on July 19. Their most recent album, “The Forest Is The Path,” stands as their eighth studio effort and first in six years, produced by Fraser T Smith and featuring contributions from Queens Of The Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen.
