Tyson Fury reports that Oleksandr Usyk has finalized his decision regarding a potential trilogy showdown with the former champion in 2027.

Their first meeting occurred in May 2024, where Usyk secured a split‑decision victory after a strong finish that included a ninth‑round knockdown.

The win elevated Usyk to undisputed two‑division champion and made him the first heavyweight to hold all four major world titles.

Usyk defended his titles against Fury in December 2024, dominating large portions of the rematch en route to a comprehensive unanimous‑decision win.

Fury subsequently announced his retirement after the lack of a trilogy, only to return and win a unanimous decision over Arslanbek Makhmudov last April.

Fury then revealed plans to face Anthony Joshua later this year, completing his second tune‑up by stopping Mariusz Wach in seven rounds.

While his bout against ‘AJ’ is set for December 11, Fury told IFL TV that he regards the fight as just another warm‑up before his final career showdown.

“I wanna punch this bum [Joshua] into smithereens as a warm‑up, and [then] I want a trilogy with the rabbit [Usyk].

“I spoke to Alex about it and he’s up for it next year – first quarter [of] next year – in what will be the icing on the cake of a long, luxurious career would be Joshua in Cardiff then Usyk at Madison Square Garden.”

Fury highlighted New York’s Madison Square Garden as a possible venue for the trilogy, while Usyk is already exploring stateside opportunities for his next fight.
