Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Festival raised $10 million in donations that will be allocated to nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting women and girls, she announced on the eve of the festival.
Rodrigo explained that Daisy Chain Fields was created to celebrate the collective power of supporting one another, noting that the partner organizations are performing vital work daily across the United States and worldwide. She expressed gratitude to ticket buyers, artists who waived their fees, sponsors, and donors for contributing to the $10 million total.
All net proceeds will be distributed among ten nonprofit partners, such as Baby2Baby, which supplies diapers, formula, clothing and food to children in need; Black Mamas Matter Alliance, which offers resources to Black mothers throughout pregnancy and beyond; and the National Women’s Law Center, which advocates for gender justice nationwide.
Several partner organizations concentrate on reproductive rights and health‑care access, including the Center for Reproductive Rights, Jhpiego, the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, Planned Parenthood, and the National Institute for Reproductive Health. Rodrigo also collaborated with FreeFrom and the National Domestic Workers Alliance, which respectively assist survivors of gender‑based violence and support domestic workers.
During a press conference on Friday, Rodrigo expressed her appreciation for the women who founded Lilith Fair, noting it as the foundation for Daisy Chain.
Rodrigo observed that before Lilith Fair, women were told they could not lead a festival, that no audience would attend, and that sponsors would be unavailable; however, those trailblazers proved those doubts wrong. She added that we are now in a markedly different situation.
The festival will feature a headline set by Rodrigo, alongside performances by Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Devon Again, Doechii, Garbage, Mitski, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold, and the Breeders. Special guests include Karen O, Sarah McLachlan, and Stevie Nicks. (Katseye withdrew after one member sustained an injury.)
Rodrigo noted that many of today’s leading artists headlining festivals and selling out arenas are women, and she feels fortunate to consider several of them friends. When she conceived the festival, she reached out to each of them, and their enthusiastic response was overwhelming. She highlighted that these women are already achieving remarkable feats, many while touring extensively, and that they have all agreed to participate in a single day, with 100% of net proceeds directed to nonprofit organizations dedicated to advocating for and supporting women and girls. She expressed profound gratitude for their time and passion.
