Official sources indicate that nine terrorists were eliminated in the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, raising the total number of militantsneutralized since July 5 to 88. This development follows intensified coordinated air and ground operations by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and local police against terrorist networks.
According to security updates shared on X, the operation focuses on destroying terrorist hideouts in Balochistan. Recent actions have added 52 confirmed eliminations under Operation Shaban, with the overall count including intelligence-based operations reaching 88.
Security officials confirmed that the operation will persist until all hostile elements are eradicated from the region.
The conflict in Quetta’s Shaban district intensified after a July 5 attack on a police post at Mangi dam pumping station. Terrorists killed nine police officers, including two station house officers, and abducted 18 others before their bodies were found in the Zarghoon Gar mountains.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti remarked that authorities have thwarted an attempted attack on a police station in Zedi, Khuzdar district, emphasizing the state’s commitment to upholding law and order.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a unified national strategy to combat terrorism during a Quetta meeting, stressing collective efforts from civil and military leadership. He stated, “We have taken a mutual and singular decision to end terrorism collectively,” alongside CDF Chief Marshal Asim Munir and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.”
