The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Wednesday that nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen Buffalo chicken products are being recalled because they were produced without federal inspection.
Boston-based Shanghai Ravioli Corporation is voluntarily recalling approximately 24,900 pounds of frozen, not-ready-to-eat Buffalo chicken items.
The recall covers cardboard boxes holding 100 pieces of Buffalo Chicken Rangoon and boxes containing 120 pieces of Benedetto’s Buffalo Chicken Mozzarella Stick.

The recalled products carry sell‑by dates ranging from July 8, 2026 through June 29, 2027, as shown on their labels.
These items were manufactured between July 8, 2025 and June 29, 2026.
Distribution reached foodservice establishments in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

FSIS warns that some of the recalled items may still be in foodservice refrigerators or freezers. Establishments that have received these products should not serve them and must either discard or return them to the supplier.
FSIS noted that the affected products display false inspection marks bearing establishment number EST. 18004, which is not authorized for federal inspection.
Products made without federal inspection may harbor undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that pose a risk to consumer health and safety, according to FSIS.

The deficiency was identified during routine FSIS surveillance activities.
To date, no illnesses or injuries have been confirmed in connection with these products. Individuals who experience adverse effects should seek medical attention.
