Pakistan has urged Qatar to support the early signing of the Pakistan-GCC free trade agreement and to boost investment within the country, following bilateral talks held in Doha on October 24. According to a report by Profit, citing the Ministry of Commerce, the discussions focused on expanding market access for Pakistani exports and fostering Qatari capital in key sectors including agriculture, industry, information technology, and infrastructure.

Pakistan confirmed completing its domestic approval processes for the pact, transmitting the finalized text to the GCC Secretariat on December 31, 2025. Despite this step, the agreement remains unsigned. During the talks, officials also advocated for the removal of restrictions on Pakistani bone-in meat exports and highlighted prospective ventures, such as rice supply chains, grain storage solutions, electric-vehicle manufacturing, shipping initiatives, and the proposed Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway. Although a potential joint investment fund was discussed, no final decision was reached. Additionally, eleven technical working groups are slated to identify collaborative opportunities ahead of the next task force meeting.
