The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) is scheduled to convene on July 20 to evaluate the confirmation of two additional judges, extend the tenure of Constitutional Benches at the Sindh High Court, and address nominations for five vacant judicial positions across provincial high courts.
Chief justices from four high courts have already submitted candidate names to the JCP for these appointments. Chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, the commission has called for nominations for 10 additional judges at the Lahore High Court, five at the Sindh High Court, five at the Balochistan High Court, and three at the Islamabad High Court.
The JCP has received 35 nominations for five vacant judge positions in the Sindh High Court. The commission will also review candidates for three Islamabad High Court vacancies, four additional judges at the Peshawar High Court, and one additional judge along with nominations to fill 10 Lahore High Court positions, where 24 nominations have been received. Further considerations include nominee selections for the Balochistan High Court.
