Islamabad, May 25 (APP) – The KSE‑100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange rose on Monday, adding 3,881.05 points, a 2.31 % increase, and closed at 171,725.29, up from 167,844.25 the previous session, according to PSX.

Trading volume reached 506.355 million shares with a value of Rs 31.146 billion, up from 480.818 million shares worth Rs 22.721 billion the day before. Market capitalization rose to Rs 18.989 trillion from Rs 18.616 trillion the prior day.

Of the 489 companies trading on the main board, 345 posted gains, 107 fell, and 37 remained flat.

Bank of Punjab led trading volume with 27.289 million shares, followed by First National Equities at 25.566 million and Pakistan International Bulk at 24.880 million.

Among the biggest gainers, Khairpur Sugar Mills Ltd rose Rs 200.78 to finish at Rs 2,208.56, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Ltd added Rs 79, closing at Rs 26,079.

PIA Holding Company Ltd fell Rs 218.12 to close at Rs 17,928.88, and Khyber Textile Mills Ltd dropped Rs 41.68 to end at Rs 1,518.17.

Futures market turnover reached 331.394 million shares valued at Rs 18.440 billion, compared with 226.439 million shares worth Rs 10.160 billion the previous session.

Of the 318 companies in the futures segment, 286 posted gains, 29 fell, and 3 were unchanged, per PSX.
