Second-round linebacker Gabe Jacas briefly skipped training camp before resolving his contract status. He formally signed a four-year, $8.6 million deal on Saturday, as reported by Jordan Schultz of The Schultz Report, finalizing the Patriots’ entire draft class signings.
Jacas underwent arthroscopic knee surgery during the offseason, which caused him to miss all team offseason work. Once he is medically cleared to practice, he will need time to rebuild his game conditioning.
The Patriots traded up in the second round to select the Illinois product 55th overall. Last season, Jacas recorded 11 sacks, 13.5 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles.
