Philippe Mateta Targets Manchester United Move This January
Despite enduring a hamstring issue this term, Mateta has made his intentions clear regarding his future ahead of the New Year.
The striker has rejected a contract extension beyond June 2027 and is open to a free transfer if a winter move materializes.
Crystal Palace are prepared to entertain a mid-season sale, with Mateta reportedly prioritizing a move to Manchester United should the opportunity arise.
Manchester United have endured difficulties in finding a consistent goalscorer throughout the current campaign.
Benjamin Sesko is currently sidelined with a persistent shin injury and faces an extended spell on the treatment table.
Joshua Zirkzee has featured regularly in matchday squads but has been limited to substitute appearances during the season so far.
A move for Mateta could potentially pave the way for Zirkzee’s departure.
