Prasidh Krishna was named the Impact Player of the Series after India secured a 1‑0 victory in their two‑match Test series against Sri Lanka. The Karnataka-born right‑arm fast‑medium bowler finished the series with seven wickets at an average of 24.57, including a best return of 3/52. The award ceremony was captured in a video posted on bcci.tv on 29 August 2026.
The medal was presented by team performance analyst Hari Prasad Mohan. At the ceremony, Mohan praised Krishna’s inquisitive approach and relentless work ethic throughout the tour before announcing the award. He also highlighted the Karnataka quick’s ability to thrive in challenging conditions.
“The Impact Player of the Series award goes to a player who has put in the hard work, extracted movement from the ball, and constantly challenged the batsmen even in tough conditions. He made his presence felt whenever he had the ball in hand. From the moment we arrived in Colombo, he has been relentless in seeking data and insights. Honestly, if anyone on this team could double as an analyst, it would be him. For his persistence, his wickets, his impact, and the many questions he poses—questions I actually enjoy—this award is Prasidh Krishna’s,” Mohan said in the video.

Upon receiving the award, Krishna expressed his gratitude to every member of the touring party, including those who did not make the playing XI. He emphasized that such collective effort will propel the team forward.
“None of this would be possible without each of you. The players who took the field received the recognition they deserved, but everyone involved in the setup contributes enormously during a Test match. We held extensive training sessions each day to ensure we were all prepared,” Krishna said.
“Even on scorching days, everyone remained on the field, offering support—providing water and assistance. The reserves stepped up, running in and helping wherever needed. This collective effort will carry us far, and it reflects how this team should operate. Thank you all,” he added.
Krishna concluded the series as the fifth‑highest wicket‑taker overall and the second‑best among the pace bowlers. Spinner Manav Suthar topped the charts with 16 wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja claimed eight. Jasprit Bumrah missed the Tests after injuring his knee during the ODI series in England, underscoring the importance of Krishna’s role as the senior fast bowler.
