Sarah Ferguson to return to UK after relocating amid Epstein revelations

Sarah Ferguson will return to the United Kingdom after relocating to a Swiss chalet, as reported through the fallout concerning her longstanding friendship with former husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The couple were stripped of their royal titles earlier this year over the controversy surrounding their relationship with Epstein. According to news sources, the 66‑year‑old former Duchess of York is currently renting a six‑bedroom gated property situated in one of the home counties.

Ferguson formerly shared residences with Mountbatten‑Windsor at Royal Lodge in Windsor before being forced to vacate and relocate to Marsh Farm on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

“Imminently,” insiders suggest, Sarah may soon secure residence in a newly identified home that includes three bathrooms and a “granny annex.”

Reports indicate that Ferguson has spent considerable time remaining out of the public eye at a Swiss chalet in the French resort town of Verbier since departing Royal Lodge, while her personal effects were collected from Mountbatten‑Windsor’s Sandringham estate early this week.

Her anticipated arrival back in the UK arrives just days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the country with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who are slated to begin schooling the following week.

Ferguson has faced pressure to cooperate with U.S. authorities regarding Epstein, following the recent release of millions of documents that have shed fresh light on their private relationship.

In the year leading up to Epstein’s 2021 criminal conviction for child sexual abuse offenses, Ferguson wrote to the defendant in 2011 referring to him as her “supreme friend” and apologizing for “letting him down,” even though she had publicly termed her association with the man a “gigantic error of judgment.”

Last autumn, the Mail on Sunday published archived emails from 2011 in which Ferguson privately described Epstein as her essential confidant while expressing regret for not upholding her commitments.

These communications arrived less than two months after she had declared she would “never have anything to do with [Epstein] again,” amid growing scrutiny over the ties the royal couple maintained with the convicted offenders—including a £15,000 sum Epstein provided to assist with Ferguson’s debts.

Epstein ultimately became the catalyst for the collapse of Mountbatten‑Windsor’s lineage, resulting in the monarch stripping the title due to serious misjudgment in the friendship.

Ferguson lost her courtesy royal honorand her right of free entry to York throughout the home counties after councillors voted unanimously to strip the recognition over her entanglements with Epstein, an honour originally bestowed as a wedding gift from York in 1987.

Although the former duchess has authored more than fifty children’s books, thousands of copies of her latest title were swiftly withdrawn to avoid sale following the exposure of the allegations.

Earlier this calendar year, Sarah’s Trust, the international charity founded by Ferguson, was closed for the foreseeable future. Alongside several other large organizations—including the Teenage Cancer Trust and children’s hospices—it severed ties with her following the publicity of her connection to Epstein.

Additionally, six businesses linked to Ferguson—S Phoenix Events, Fergie’s Farm, La Luna Investments, Solamoon Ltd, Philanthrapreneur Ltd and Planet Partners Productions Ltd—were dissolved in February after damage emerged from further releases of materials associated with the Epstein case.
