Brendon Pretorius registered his third T20 century, eclipsing Chris Gayle’s 175 not out for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against the now-defunct Pune Warriors in 2013.
The opener reached his fifty in just 24 balls and reached three figures after only 16 more deliveries. He accelerated to 150 off 58 balls before completing his innings.
Left-handed batter Pretorius dispatched 13 sixes and 15 fours against a Knights attack whose bowlers all maintained economy rates above 11. Titans posted 267 for 3, the second-highest team total in CSA T20 Challenge history, behind their own 271 for 3 against the same opponents in 2022. That earlier fixture also held the record for the highest individual score in the competition—Dewald Brevis’ 162—before Pretorius’ latest feat. The Titans now occupy the top five highest team totals in CSA T20 Challenge history.
This was Pretorius’ maiden match of the 2026-27 season, having arrived in the tournament with destructive recent form. In his preceding two outings, he scored 94 and 101 against Zimbabwe and Namibia in a tri-series last September. Although he has appeared in only 22 internationals across formats, this was his 91st T20, a format where he averages 150.44.
