Charlie Kirk’s widow and parents are expected to appear in a Utah court this week, where prosecutors pursuing the death penalty will contend that the man accused of killing the conservative activist ought to stand trial for murder.
Beginning Monday, the five‑day preliminary hearing will mark the first appearance of Kirk’s family in the Utah courtroom alongside defendant Tyler Robinson, and the proceedings will be streamed live.
After the shooting, Robinson surrendered to authorities. Prosecutors claim he later sent a text confession to his partner and left a note stating he had a chance to kill one of the nation’s top conservative figures and declared, “I’m going to take it.”
He has not yet entered a plea in the case.
