September 07, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan’s benchmark KSE‑100 index ended Monday’s session at 173,636.07, down 1,692.75 points (0.97%) amid rising Middle East tensions and a fresh oil‑price rally that dampened investor sentiment.
Oil prices continued their upward trend on Monday after heightened U.S.–Iran military activity involving commercial vessels raised concerns over a sustained disruption to Middle East crude supplies, further worsening risk‑off mood on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The KSE‑100 swung within a 1,749.92‑point band, reaching an intraday peak of 175,353.67 (up 24.85 points) before slipping to a low of 173,603.75 (down 1,725.07 points).
Total volume on the KSE‑100 reached 181.93 million shares.
Among the 100 constituents, 12 finished higher, 87 lower and one unchanged.
The biggest decliners were CNERGY (−6.47 %), THALL (−5.90 %), PGLC (−5.70 %), CPHL (−3.32 %) and ATRL (−3.05 %).
Leading gainers included PSEL (+7.55 %), AICL (+3.23 %), AKBL (+1.54 %), GHGL (+1.06 %) and KEL (+0.70 %).
In point‑terms, UBL (−368.10), OGDC (−186.12), PPL (−96.34), MCB (−87.32) and FFC (−73.21) were the biggest drags on the index.
Conversely, PSEL (+68.29), AKBL (+25.73), AICL (+22.55), MTL (+10.12) and DCR (+5.52) lent support.
Sectorally, Commercial Banks (−621.14 points), Oil & Gas Exploration (−313.43), Cement (−208.32), Fertilizer (−112.18) and Refinery (−94.82) pressed the benchmark lower.
Support came from Miscellaneous (+63.44), Insurance (+22.55), Real Estate Investment Trust (+4.54), Textile Weaving (+0.06) and Sugar & Allied Industries (+0.04).
In the wider market, the All‑Share Index settled at 105,405.30, down 1,037.53 points (0.97 %).
Overall market volume slipped to 679.19 million shares from 874.32 million the prior session, and traded value dropped by Rs 8.72 billion to Rs 23.69 billion.
A total of 374,744 trades were executed across 495 companies, with 154 advances, 311 declines and 30 unchanged.
