Punjab has launched a three‑year economic programme covering FY2026‑27 to FY2028‑29, allocating Rs1,995 billion. The initiative, dubbed the PIVOT plan, aims to generate an additional $6.8 billion in exports and create 162,000 new jobs. According to Mettis Global, the plan merges Rs1,089 billion in public investment with an expected Rs906 billion from private partners, shifting production toward higher‑value goods.

The bulk of the budget—Rs753.7 billion—is directed to industry enablers, while Rs471 billion is assigned to tourism and Rs355.5 billion to agricultural value addition. Core actions include export assistance for eight sectors such as textiles, apparel, industrial parks, and agro‑processing, plus workforce training initiatives. The strategy also projects provincial growth accelerating to 5.9 % by FY2029, tying the investment drive to Punjab’s manufacturing, textile, agriculture, and technology industries.
