The talented Raaheeb is looking to continue his development in the Weatherbys Global Stallions App Winter Hill Stakes.

A half‑brother to top‑class performers Baaeed and Hukum, Raaheeb started his career with a decisive win at two, followed by a convincing victory in the Sandown Classic Trial. He later posted a respectable fourth‑place finish in the Irish Derby, showing early promise before fading in the closing stages under Rossa Ryan.

The additional time afforded for his physical and mental growth should position him for a strong comeback, making him a formidable opponent even if he carries a penalty.

Venetian Prince, representing the in‑form Andrew Balding stable after his Italian Derby win in June, will need to overcome a disappointing Royal Ascot effort where he was overtaken three furlongs out in the King Edward VII Stakes.

In contrast, Maho Bay performed respectably at the Royal meeting, and his team might feel unfortunate about the trouble he encountered in the home straight. Still relatively unexposed, he could pose the biggest danger to a yard in good form.

Crest Of Fire and Harmonics have been making steady progress in handicaps, but they would require a notable advancement to compete successfully at a higher level.

4.00 Newton Abbot – Improving duo Arctic Voyage and Edelak feature in cagey affair

The improving duo of Arctic Voyage and Edelak feature in a cagey Par Inn Handicap Hurdle.

Edelak resumed winning ways at Stratford in July after falling on his penultimate start when a likely winner. He has now won four of his last five – and doing so rather easily – with a small break after a busy period likely to see him produce a career‑best performance.

However, the opposition is tough with Arctic Voyage taking very well to hurdling since switching to the Michael Blake yard. He has won three of his last four and looked particularly good last time out when scoring with a clear advantage.

Although on a fair mark and back over hurdles, War Correspondent has not had the ideal preparation for this race after two disappointing runs over fences, so Ellerton remains the main threat to the leading pair, boasting an encouraging hurdle win on his record following a breathing operation.

George Boughey’s filly has improved with each outing since her debut in May, and connections’ patience was rewarded when she won by more than five lengths at Lingfield on her most recent appearance. She is stoutly bred, being closely related to Godolphin’s listed winner Ghostwatch, so the step up to one mile and six furlongs should bring further improvement.

Last Verse performed very well at Lingfield on his latest start and remains relatively unexposed and favourably placed in the handicap.

Level Look can build on his promising second‑place finish at Chester, having been disadvantaged by trailing too far back at the Shergar Cup last month.

Robusto won on his most recent outing and can stay competitive, although his higher all‑weather rating limits his handicap scope compared with the less‑exposed rivals.
