RareX has officially launched its first reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Khaleesi Alkaline Intrusive Complex, located in Western Australia.
The initial program involves 3,500 meters of drilling across five highly prospective target areas, focused on identifying key critical minerals, including gallium, niobium, and rare earth elements (REEs).
Following recent mobilization of the field team and completion of site preparations, the drill rig has arrived, and drilling has commenced across the five primary targets.
These targets were carefully selected using a combination of historical exploration data and recent high-resolution magnetic and gravity surveys.
According to RareX, while the broader district has previously seen gold exploration, it has undergone limited modern assessment for critical minerals such as gallium and rare earth elements.
Among the five initial targets is the Niobe area, which exhibits a surface gallium anomaly spanning approximately 5 km by 3 km. This area shows coincident magnetic and gravity signatures that remain untested at depth.
Other targets within the campaign focus on magnetic and gravity anomalies believed to be associated with denser rock types, alongside geochemical anomalies identified during earlier drilling operations.
RareX acquired ownership of the Khaleesi Project in May 2024, recognizing its significant potential for critical minerals that have not been extensively explored historically.
The company’s current exploration efforts are grounded in a fresh geological interpretation, combining modern survey techniques with a thorough reinterpretation of legacy data.
Additionally, an application for an adjacent tenement that recently satisfied native title requirements is expected to be granted soon, potentially expanding the project’s footprint for future exploration.
Samples from the current drilling campaign will be sent to laboratories for analysis, with assay results to be released in stages as they are finalized.
The outcomes of this program will be crucial in shaping future exploration strategies across the broader Khaleesi Alkaline Intrusive Complex.
