Ras Al-Khaimah’s Public Services Department announced Saturday the immediate closure of all beaches across the emirate until further notice, according to a statement released by the Ras Al-Khaimah Police General Headquarters.
Authorities did not cite a specific reason for the sweeping measure; however, the decision follows an offshore oil leak detected a day earlier that forced beach closures in the neighboring emirates of Umm Al-Quwain and Sharjah.
