Rasmussen complemented Martinez’s efforts, also securing a career-high win. The 31-year-old right-hander improved his record to 12-2, matching Martinez’s tally. Together, they form a formidable pitching duo, combining low walk rates (Martinez: 1.30 BB/9, Rasmussen: 1.60 BB/9) and effective strike-throwing. Both are nearing career innings totals, with Martinez at 138 in 23 starts and Rasmussen at 129 after returning from injury.
The Rays’ success isn’t limited to pitching. Their lineup has provided consistent run production, allowing the team to maintain a 9-0 road trip. Rasmussen highlighted the team’s versatility, noting that scoring opportunities arise from multiple facets of the game.
With a 74-46 record and a 6.5-game lead in the AL East, the Rays head into a critical series against the Orioles. Despite inevitable losses, their recent performance underscores their dominance, blending pitching excellence with offensive synergy.
