Federal regulators have ordered a recall of roughly 2.3 million Ricky Joy Sour Crush rolling‑liquid candy bottles after the products were found to contain a detachable rolling ball that can become a choking hazard, potentially causing serious injury or death.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Thursday, warning that “the rolling ball on the recalled candy bottles can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking hazard.”
The bottles were sold individually and in packs of three or twelve in flavors of blue raspberry, strawberry, green apple and watermelon. They were available at H‑E‑B, Forman’s Mill and other candy stores nationwide, as well as online at Walmart, CandyFunHouse.com, RickyJoy.com and other online retailers. Sales ran from January 2023 through May 2026, with each bottle priced at about $3 and packs costing between $13 and $32.
The 1.85‑fluid‑ounce containers feature the Ricky Joy branding, including “EXTREME SOUR,” “SOUR CRUSH” and the flavor name, illustrated with a green‑monster graphic.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the recall. Consumers should stop using the bottles, keep them away from children and contact The Ricky Joy Company for a refund.
