Rising Star Sibin Gireesh Shatters Records in KCL 2026 Auction

Sibin Gireesh has emerged as one of Kerala’s most promising young all‑rounders, showcasing his talent prominently in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL).

On Saturday, July 11, Gireesh became the most expensive player in the KCL auction, being acquired by Alleppey Ripples for Rs 11.80 lakh. He previously featured for Thrissur Titans in the prior season but will now represent Ripples.

Who is Sibin Gireesh?

Born on 21 October 1998, Sibin hails from Malappuram, Kerala. His early cricketing exposure came through local tournaments, where he represented his district in events such as the NSK Trophy, establishing a strong foundation for his professional career.

Combining a versatile batting style that can occupy the top or middle order with disciplined bowling, Sibin embodies the emerging class of multi‑dimensional talents shaping Kerala’s cricket landscape.

During the second season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL 2025), he seized the opportunity to showcase his abilities while playing for Thrissur Titans. His match‑winning performances under pressure underscored his capacity to influence games decisively.

In a pivotal encounter against Alleppey Ripples last year, Sibin delivered a clinical spell of four wickets for 23 runs in four overs, dismissing key batters including captain Muhammad Azharuddeen, Abhishek P. Nair, Akshay T.K., and Balu Babu.

Just days later, he repeated the feat with a four‑wicket haul of 4/16 against the same side, removing Muhammad Kaif, Akshay T.K., Muhammad Inan, and Muhammad Nazil from the middle and lower order. These displays propelled him to third place on the KCL wicket‑takers list and cemented his reputation as a strike bowler capable of turning matches.

Beyond the league, Sibin earned selection for Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2025, further highlighting his rising stature in Indian domestic cricket.
