RIYADH, October 10, 2026
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has advised passengers to verify their travel plans directly with carriers before making the trip to the terminal.
“Please contact your airline directly and confirm your flight status before heading to the airport,” the advisory, published on X, stated.
The caution comes in the wake of a recent spike in violence targeting the facility. On Thursday, three people, including a Saudia pilot, were killed in attacks on King Khalid International attributed to Houthi militants based in Yemen.
Earlier assaults also targeted the region’s aviation infrastructure; a strike on King Khalid International on Wednesday resulted in the death of a Sudanese national, while two women were killed a day prior when militants attacked Abha International Airport in Asir province.
The incidents have drawn widespread international condemnation, prompting calls for the Iran-backed group to halt attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Friday the launch of “large-scale operations” against the Houthis, reporting the destruction of more than 130 targets.
