RIYADH: The Professional Fighters League MENA will present its PFL MENA 11 event on October 2 at Boulevard Riyadh, bringing together top mixed‑martial‑arts athletes from across the Middle East and North Africa. The card features semifinals in the welterweight, featherweight, and lightweight divisions, with the winners advancing to the championship finals.
The main event will showcase a long‑standing rivalry as Saudi Arabia’s Mostafa Nada faces Egypt’s Osama Elsaidy for the third time. After splitting their first two contests in 2016, the fighters will settle the trilogy ten years later, with Nada returning to action following a serious arm injury.
Gustavo Firmino, PFL MENA’s vice president of fighter operations, emphasized the event’s narrative depth. “We built a card where every fight has a reason and a story behind it,” he said. “PFL MENA 11 gives Arab MMA fans everything they could want: a decade‑old rivalry, high‑stakes tournament semifinals, comeback stories, veterans versus the next generation, and young prospects getting their chance to shine.”
The program highlights several compelling storylines. Badreddine Diani will face rising Jordanian talent Hazem Kayyali, while Mohammad Fahmi seeks redemption after reaching last year’s final. Mehdi Saadi returns to competition after a two‑year hiatus, and veteran matchups pit experienced fighters against emerging prospects across the three weight classes.
The next generation will also take center stage. Saudi Fatima Al‑Ammari, an 18‑year‑old four‑time Saudi National Muay Thai and boxing champion who trains with Hattan Alsaif, makes her Senior Amateur MMA debut against Algeria’s Lounes Aya.
Firmino explained PFL MENA’s scouting philosophy, noting that the organization works closely with gyms, coaches, and federations to identify talent at every career stage. “Our goal is to find top fighters and give them the platform to compete at the highest level,” he said. “We’re looking for the athletes who could become the region’s next champions and stars.”
For Firmino, the event encapsulates PFL MENA’s mission: a platform where regional fighters can compete at the elite level, where fresh talent can emerge, and where the stories and rivalries that matter to Arab MMA take center stage. “PFL MENA 11 brings all of that together in one night,” he added. “I can’t wait to see it unfold in Riyadh.”
