###REVISED HEADLINE: Russia Launches Ballistic Missile Attacks on Kyiv###
Russia executed a significant ballistic missile assault targeting Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, during the early hours of Sunday, as confirmed by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Eyewitnesses described multiple explosions, some attributed to air defense systems. An AFP reporter noted that one explosion was notably intense, triggering vehicle alarm systems in the city’s downtown area.
Kyiv’s Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, announced several fires erupting across the city in both residential and commercial zones, including a dormitory, apartment complex, and supermarket. Emergency response units were promptly dispatched, he communicated through Telegram updates.
At least seven injuries were reported stemming from the assault on Kyiv, with one individual receiving immediate medical attention on-site.
“Preliminary data indicates one fatality resulting from the attack,” stated the Kyiv military administration via Telegram. However, Klitschko’s reports did not include any death tolls.

Russia’s recent airstrikes occur following Ukraine’s deployment of attack drones against e-commerce storage facilities in Moscow and Tambov regions on the preceding day, resulting in eight fatalities and substantial fire damage. Concurrently, Russian bombardment had already claimed two lives within Ukraine.
The ongoing large-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia has persisted for four years. Both nations have increasingly utilized drone warfare, though Moscow has prioritized ballistic missile strikes specifically targeting Kyiv and other Ukrainian territories. Kyiv has publicly expressed concerns regarding diminishing reserves of interception missiles designed to neutralize such ballistic threats.
