Alexander Drozdenko, Leningrad Governor, reported that air defenses intercepted 33 Ukrainian drones overnight. Wildberries announced two Saint Petersburg warehouses suspended operations, though details remain limited. Pulkovo Airport briefly stopped flights before resuming operations.
The strike is part of an ongoing pattern of Ukrainian attacks on Russian logistics and industrial sites. Wildberries confirmed this was the third such incident at its warehouses in a week, following earlier fires in Elektrostal and Tambov that killed eight workers. Attacks in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk also caused deaths and injuries recently.
Ukraine frames these strikes as “long-range sanctions” targeting logistics hubs supplying dual-use goods for Russia’s military. Moscow counters that the attacks target civilian assets and businesses, without supporting diplomatic claims of economic warfare. Cross-border strikes persist as ceasefire negotiations remain stalled.
