Saudi Giants Al-Hilal Emerge as Top Bidder for Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli

Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal have initiated advanced negotiations to acquire Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, with sources confirming their readiness to offer a package nearing £50 million for the 25-year-old Brazilian winger.

Transfer analyst Ben Jacobs disclosed via X that discussions have formally begun between Al-Hilal and Arsenal regarding Martinelli’s potential transfer to Saudi Arabia. This development follows sustained interest from the Middle East, with the club reportedly prioritizing completion of the deal before the summer transfer deadline.

Jacobs further outlined that Al-Hilal’s renewed pursuit coincides with Arsenal’s strategic push to offload Martinelli, who has been identified as surplus to the North London side’s needs under manager Mikel Arteta. The player reportedly now leans favorably toward a high-profile move, having previously rebuffed a £38.4 million bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray earlier this summer.

Historically receptive to relocation, Martinelli first attracted Saudi interest during last season’s transfer window. Current reports suggest a collaborative effort between all parties, with Arsenal positioned to expedite negotiations should financial terms align. Notably, Arteta’s staff have already communicated their intent to reduce the squad’s size and reallocate resources, with Martinelli cited as a key candidate for an exit to fund incoming signings.
