Robbie Savage has urged his Peterborough squad to overhaul their mindset after a promising start to his tenure.
Posh exploded into life with four goals in nine first-half minutes, securing a 4-1 EFL Trophy victory over Ipswich Town U21s in Savage’s debut match as manager.
The 51-year-old will take charge of his first League One fixture at Leicester City on Saturday.
“We need to ditch the mentality of just trying to stop the opposition — this is about us,” Savage told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. “Let’s be ourselves, let’s go out and play, let’s have a go, let’s entertain. We’re taking over 3,200 fans to Leicester, and I want them to see us entertain.”
“These players are underachieving. If we can unlock their best, we can beat anyone.”
Tuesday’s win progressed Posh into the EFL Trophy last 32, adding to their joint-record third title triumph in 2025.
