Savannah Guthrie has posted a public appeal on social media, asking anyone with information about her mother, Nancy, who went missing in February and remains missing, to come forward and help the family obtain answers.
She shared a drawing created by her daughter, depicting an umbrella, raindrops and the words “I know it might not seem like it, but I really need my mommy.” The caption explained that the artwork captures how she is feeling.
In her caption, Guthrie described the emotional toll of the ordeal. She noted that while life appears to continue normally, the pain persists. Speaking for her children, grandchildren and herself, she expressed the family’s grief: “We ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know. Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.”
Guthrie concluded the post by thanking those who have shown kindness and urged continued support: “Thank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity. Join us in praying without ceasing.”
Six months after Nancy’s disappearance, Guthrie shared another Instagram post marking the occasion. She reflected on the relentless anguish the family has endured, noting that every day begins with an effort to remain strong, echoing the resilience their mother had taught them.
A month earlier, Guthrie posted a video on Instagram directed at her mother’s abductors. She described the family’s ongoing nightmare, stating that nothing had changed and that they would never stop searching for Nancy, carrying an enduring void in their hearts.
Nancy disappeared on February 1 after missing her usual Sunday church service in Tucson, Arizona. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department quickly classified the case as a presumed kidnapping following concerning evidence found at her home. The FBI joined the investigation and initially offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to her recovery. The bounty was increased to $200,000 and later to $1 million on February 24.
