On Sunday, police reported that multiple suspects were detained in simultaneous search and strike operations conducted across Lakki Marwat and Karak districts.
In Lakki Marwat, police launched an operation targeting rural areas within the Tajori police station jurisdiction and adjacent to the Bittani subdivision after receiving credible intelligence about terrorist presence.
DPO Nazir Khan stated that the operation aimed to eradicate anti‑state elements and dismantle their hideouts in the district’s remote rural localities.
Supported by armored personnel carriers (APCs), security forces raided locations in Bakhmal Ahmadzai, Tarikhel, Behramkhel and Sulemankhel, apprehending several suspects, according to his account.
Police vow to eliminate all terrorists
He added that police also confiscated weapons and ammunition from those arrested during the operation.
The DPO reported that police officials consulted local tribal elders to secure their cooperation for the ongoing campaign against terrorists and criminals.
He indicated that the search and strike operations would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated and lasting peace is restored to the area.
In Karak, District Police Officer Imran Khan directed an operation in the mountainous border zones adjacent to Mianwali district in Punjab, aimed at reinforcing inter‑border security as part of broader border‑security initiatives.
A substantial police contingent, supported by Elite Force commandos, participated in the offensive to root out terrorists and secure the border region.
During the operation, police detained numerous suspects, transferred them to the police station, and filed cases against them under applicable legal provisions. Law enforcement personnel also destroyed the terrorist safe houses that had been established in the mountainous terrain for planning attacks.
Mr. Imran stated that police would employ every available resource to assert state authority and eradicate threats to peace in the region.
Residents of Serai Naurang have appealed to the provincial government to allocate funds for installing streetlights along Hospital Road in the town. Speaking to journalists on Sunday, they highlighted that the existing lighting on the Bannu‑D. I. Khan Road through Naurang has enhanced the urban area’s aesthetics. They noted that a similar scheme is underway, with additional streetlights being placed at Gandi Chowk on the busy Peshawar‑Karachi Highway. The community thanked the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Home and Tribal Affairs, Tariq Saeed Khan, for his attention to the town’s beautification and uplift, and requested further lighting in surrounding areas of Naurang. They emphasized that Hospital Road, linking urban and rural populations and serving as a vital route to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, is essential for daily commutes.
