Scotland Welcomes Ihsan and Jones, Robertson Secures First Senior Cap

Lyle Robertson earns his first senior Scotland call-up for August’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 series against Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

Robertson from Falkland is one of three changes to the squad that toured Nepal in May, with Zainullah Ihsan and Michael Jones returning to the lineup.

Michael Leask has been omitted, and the injured duo of Brad Currie and Owen Gould remain unavailable.

“It is a pleasure to welcome back Zainullah Ihsan and Michael Jones to the squad for this series,” said Scotland head coach Owen Dawkins.

Ihsan has shown notable progress across the summer through training, club cricket for GHK, and regional competition with Western Warriors.

Jones, who was sidelined on our last two tours due to Lancashire commitments, returns, adding high‑quality experience to a home series.

We are pleased to award Robertson his inaugural senior international call-up; the youngster previously represented Scotland at the ICC Under‑19 World Cup in the Caribbean and has continued to develop steadily.

The upcoming fixtures will constitute Scotland’s final CWCL2 matches, scheduled at Forthill in Broughty Ferry.

Currently, Scotland sit second in the table alongside the Netherlands, five points behind the United States.
